Greece dominates National Travel Industry Awards in Australia
The 10th National Travel Industry Awards took place last week and it proved to be a good night for Greece. The event at the International Convention Centre in Sydney was attended by over 2,000 industry professionals. While speeches and awards were featured, entertainment was evident in the way of traditional dancers from the Hellenic Lyceum of Sydney, which was part of a celebration of Greece.
The Australian Federation of Travel Agents, Jayson Westbury, described Greece as a: ‘fantastic tourist destination that any Australian should visit’. He also pointed out that Greece is expecting some 30m tourists over the next year.
Dr. Stavros Kyrimis, Greece’s Consul-General in Sydney, also spoke at the event saying: ‘We are very happy to be part of this significant event. Greece is a small country with a big embrace’.
