Thessaloniki has been chosen to host two major international events in the coming years.
The first is the European Control Conference (ECC) in June 2025.
The European Control Conference (ECC) aims to bring together academic and industrial professionals in the field of systems and control, and to promote scientific cooperation and exchanges within the European Union and between Europe and other parts of the World. Since 2013, it has been held annually under the auspices of the European Control Association (EUCA).
The conference will be organized with the collaboration of the Automation and Robotics Laboratory of the Aristotle University and is expected to bring more than 600 participants to Thessaloniki.
Furthermore, Thessaloniki has been chosen to host another significant international meeting: the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centers Conference (IAML) in July 2026.
IAML encourages and promotes the activities of music libraries, archives and documentation centres to support and facilitate the realization of projects in music bibliography, music documentation and music library and information science at national and international levels.
Participants will reach 350 people.
City authorities note that Thessaloniki’s selection as host city for the two events highlights the city’s prospects and dynamics.
