Α leading event for agrotechnology, the AgriBusiness Forum was held at the Aldemar Olympian Village in Pyrgos, Ilia on 3-4 June 2022 entitled “Agri-food systems of Peloponnese 4.0”.

The first of three conferences took place at a time when both the climate crisis – which seriously affects the world’s ecosystems – and the war in Ukraine raise the issues of food security, adequacy and resilience of agri-food systems in Greece, Europe and the world.

As one of the protagonists of Greek agriculture, the Peloponnese region and the Ilia province in particular, are now called upon to implement strategies adapted to modern challenges to ensure the sustainability of agricultural production and the prosperity of producers and local communities.

At AgriBusiness Peloponnese 2022, precision agriculture, agri-environmental measures, high-yield crops, financial instruments, human capital, risk prevention and management, synergies between the primary sector, research institutions and business were among the topics of concern.

In the 7 sessions of AgriBusiness Peloponnese 2022, 30 keynote speakers identified the challenges and made substantive proposals for the future of the Peloponnese agri-food systems in the digital age. The event was completed with a field visit to an agri-food unit in the area, the  Abelon Brintziki Estate.
