Digitalization and technology were among the top issues discussed at Capital Link’s 3rd Annual Singapore Maritime Forum took place on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 as a digital event.
The Forum featured industry leaders that covered financing opportunities and critical topics of relevance to the maritime industry such as environmental regulations, shipping in post Covid-era, technology, crewing and mental health.
Panelists, Rens Groot, Innovation and Performance Manager at Berge Bulk, Jon Løken, Chief Executive Officer at ChordX, Leslie Yee, General Manager IT at Pacific International Lines (Pte) Ltd, and Dr. Thilo Dückert, Vice President Fleet Performance Management at StormGeo discussed fleet operations optimization, collaborations among tech providers and data consumers, machine learning capabilities for classification and prediction.
The second panel was dedicated to the global alternative finance options with the participation of Axel Siepmann, Managing Partner at Braemar Naves, Tobias Backer, Co-Founder at Axel Siepmann, Managing Partner – Braemar Naves, Julian Proctor, CEO of Purus Marine, George Kypraios, CEO of Yefira Consulting Pte Ltd and George Cambanis, Managing Director at YieldStreetFleet.
At the third panel, Captain Faouzi Fradi, Group Crewing and Training Director – Columbia Shipmanagement Ltd, Costas Joannides, Chief Executive Officer at Marsh Cyprus, Christian Ioannou, Founder and Managing Director of MCTC Marine Ltd, Christian Ayerst, Chief Executive Officer of Mental Health Support Solutions (MHSS) and Nigel Cleave, Senior Advisor at OneLearn Global Ltd talked about shipping in the post Covid-era and refocusing on the human element.
The Forum was held in partnership with Columbia Shipmanagement and Singhai Marine Services. It was held in conjunction with the Singapore Maritime Week.
