Following an intensive preliminary phase launched a few years ago for the localisation of production activities in Greece, Naval Group has identified MEVACO as a key supplier for mechanical systems and metalwork equipment. Naval Group, the global industrial contractor, designer and overall integrator of whole warships and combat systems, says this is only the first of a series of deals with Greek companies that will follow and proves the Group’s commitment to build a strong industrial cooperation with the Greek industry.
“Today’s signing of the MEVACO framework agreement with Naval Group proves the potential and competitiveness of the Greek Defense Industry” president of SEKPY (Association of Greek Manufacturers of Defense Equipment) Tassos Rozolis said. “With the right policies, Greece can achieve the return of a significant part of the armaments costs in the form of investments in the Greek Defense Industry. The strengthening of the Greek Defense Industry will offer new jobs, growth and extroversion and ensure the security of supply of the Greek Armed Forces in times of crisis “.
