A Kuwaiti airline has begun direct routes to Athens. Wataniya Airlines is expanding its network and has also added routes between Athens and Malaga on Spain’s south coast.
According to the General Travel and Representation Services (GTRS), a Greek-based sales agency, the airline said in a statement: “Now, anyone can fly from Athens to Kuwait or Athens to Malaga on a direct flight twice per week”. The Athens-Kuwait flight will connect the two cities twice a week.
The statement is more welcome news as airlines in Europe and Asia attempt to capitalise on Greece’s booming tourism sector. Athens International Airport also recently announced that its satellite terminal is now permanently operational in order to cope with the increasing number of flights arriving from cities around the world.
