President Macron of France to visit Greece
The recently elected President of France, Emmanuel Macron, will be visiting Athens early next month. Macron, who became the youngest president in the history of the French Republic at just 39, will visit the capital on September 7th and 8th. His very pro-EU stance has been beneficial to Greece in recent times given the sometimes frosty relationship with its creditors.
The visit is part of a series of three significant events planned by the government in the space of three months in its effort to encourage growth through foreign investment. Another event between Greece and Italy has been announced for September 14th. Greek PM Alexis Tsipras will meet Italian PM Paolo Gentiloni in Corfu. In addition to that, the EU-Arab World Summit will also be held in Athens on November 9th and 10th and will be attended by government officials and businesses from the Arab world.
