New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis hit back at prime minister Alexis Tsipras’ desperate attempt to divert attention away from his hard-left, incompetent government by accusing ND of apparent links to the Paradise Papers. The accusation relates to Mitsotakis’ wife, Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotaki, whose name allegedly appears on a list of 130 Greek citizens with offshore interests.
“We are waiting for an explanation. Whoever made it to the tax paradise will eventually end up in the hell of politics,” the incompetent prime minister dramatically said.
Speaking at a conservative party conference in Iraklio, Mitsotakis responded by stating: “They can pick on me instead of my wife if they want. I have told Parliament and Mr. Tsipras before that there is no shame in losing an election. There is however shame in trying to save oneself through mudslinging, with misinformation and vulgar statements,” he said.
